Our Story
Irane Gagben is an offering by artist Maxine, and Mohamed, a Siwa native and local guide.
Mohamed carries Siwa within him — its land, traditions, and ways of life are an intrinsic part of who he is. With deep familiarity and reverence for its landscapes and culture, he guides those who come through the oasis with care, sharing the knowledge and sensibilities that come from a lifelong relationship with this place.
Maxine is an artist whose practice moves between sound, visual art, storytelling and curatorial work. She is the founder of Intentions, devotional sound gatherings aligned with the lunar cycles and the turning of seasons — and hosts a monthly show on Radio Alhara. Her work tends to nature, creativity, and the human experience, crafting spaces for contemplation, connection, and transformation.
Together, they offer Irane Gagben as an invitation: a sanctuary where those who come can deepen their presence, engage with the land, and create from a place of genuine connection, gently supported with attentive presence and care. Rooted in respect for Siwa, its people, and its traditions.
